What does Usizo Community Development Projects do?
Usizo Community Development Projects is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting self-reliance, human dignity, and combating Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the township of Soweto. We provide advocacy, support services, and community education to empower women and children and create safer communities.
How does Usizo address Gender Based Violence (GBV)?
We work to eliminate GBV through various initiatives, including advocacy campaigns, provision of emergency shelter and support services for victims, community engagement programs, and awareness campaigns to educate the public about GBV prevention and support.
What support services do you offer to GBV survivors?
We provide temporary shelter, food assistance, counseling, legal aid, and medical support to GBV survivors as they navigate their recovery process. Our "Open Up and Heal" sessions offer survivors a safe space to share their experiences and receive peer support.
